Sago Vadas - South Indian


Usually Vadas are made with Urad Dhal or Bengal Gram Dhal. But here is a different way of making Vadas. Let us make Vadas with Sago.



What we need
  • Sago - 1 Cup
  • Rice Flour - 1/4 Cup
  • Bengal Gram Flour - 1/2 Cup
  • Big Onions - 1  Cup Chopped
  • Green Chillies - 3 or 4 Finely Chopped
  • Curry Leaves Chopped - 1/4 Cup
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/4 Cup
  • Ghee - 1/2 Tea Spoon
  • Chilli Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 Tea Spoon
  • Curd - 2 to 4 Tea Spoons
  • Fennel Seeds - 1/4 Tea Spoon
  • Oil - For Deep Fry
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Coconut Pieces (optional) - 1 Table Spoon


Method
  1. Soak Sago for minimum 6 hours.

  2. Squeeze sago well and take it in a vessel

  3. To this add all the above ingredients and mix well.

  4. While adding the ingredients finally add necessary curd so that batter will not become watery.

  5. Heat the oil well and keep the flame in sim

  6. Now fry Vadas - deep fry.


Tasty Vadas are ready.

Note: The above quantity will give 12 to 15 medium size Vadas.
